Way of the Mantis

A story that deserve some thought.

It is the story of an impetuous Chinese monk who finds he has a thing or two to learn from an unlikely source. The animation is rendered in a brush-painted style reminiscent of old Te Wei films. via

The Tale of How – The Blackheart Gang

Otto the Monster feasts on the Dodos (who look a lot like kiwis) until a small, white mouse unites them to escape. This Boschian-styled tale is from The Blackheart Gang.

This short is supposed to be the middle part of The Dodo Trilogy, which is, in turn, part of a larger work called The Household. Unfortunately this is the only portion I could find and I’m unsure if any other parts were actually made.

A Short Animated History of Goa

Goa is a very small state along the west coast of India with about one and a half million residents. Besides having a history that dates back 30,000 years, it is also the birthplace of Goa Trance, a music genre that shows up on my personal playlist quite often. (usually in the form of infected mushroom)

The animation is from the folks at the Animation and Art School Goa using drawings by the highly respected Goan cartoonist Mario Miranda.
